Key information about LED bulbs

There are several key differences between LED and other types of bulbs. 

• They are significantly more energy efficient than equivalent incandescent lamps and significantly more efficient than most florescent lamps. 
• LED bulbs come to full brightness immediately with  no warm-up delay.
• Frequently turned on and off will not affect the lifespan of the bulb unlike fluorescent lighting

Key information on the Packaging 

• Light output in lumen. Unlike other types of bulbs the amount of light created does not correlate with the wattage. 
• Power consumption in watts
• Colour temperature (for example, "warm white", "cool white" or "daylight")
• Operating temperature range. While not as important as incandescent bulbs, when buying a lamp shade they have a window of temperatures they work within without being damaged.
• Some times the equivalent wattage of an incandescent lamp delivering the same output in lumen
